After a successful start in February this year, Berlinale’s industry platform – the European Film Market with its Berlinale Co-Production Market division – will continue to host the “Drama Series Days” in 2016, set to take place on February 15 and 16. The initiative’s first edition was met with much enthusiasm by both the film and the television industries and resonated internationally in an increasing awareness that the best in new serial drama has a home in Berlin.

With a panel programme, market screenings and a number of networking events, the “Drama Series Days” in 2016 will offer further opportunities to strengthen connections within the rapidly developing network of the European and international television industries, in cooperation with partners such as Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the Series Mania Co-production Forum in Paris.

New in 2016, high-quality documentary series will be introduced as part of the “Drama Series Days”’ screenings and events programme, which will cater also to the growing interest and attendance of documentary industry representatives at the EFM’s platform Meet the Docs”.

The Berlinale Co-Production Market will once again present a choice of about six hand-picked international drama series projects looking for co-producers and financial backers.

And Berlinale Talents – the annual summit and networking platform of the Berlin International Film Festival – will also join the “Drama Series Days” initiative again, hosting a range of talks and discussions with acclaimed drama series experts.

The “Drama Series Days” are a vibrant specialized platform welcoming creators, buyers, sales agents, producers, commissioning editors and financial backers of high-quality drama to meet and present new serial content.
