The application process for 22nd MIFF “Listapad” has started

Today, the application process for 22nd Minsk International Film Festival has started. MIFF “Listapad” is the brightest and the most prestigious film festival in Belarus. This year the Festival will take place in November 6-13.

FIAPF accredits the Festival as Competitive Specialized Film Festival for Films produced in Baltic and Central-Asian countries, Central and Eastern Europe and Russia.

The Festival’s competition includes 3 sections:

  • Feature Films;
  • Documentaries;
  • Children and Youth Films Competition “Listapadzik”.

Retrospectives, educational programmes and out of the competition screenings accomplish the saturated Festival programme.

To enter the Main Competition the feature film should be full-length, filmed in one of the post-soviet countries or the country of the post-socialistic block, and to be mentioned or awarded at international film festivals.

To participate in Debut Films Competition “Youth on the March” the full-length feature film should be the first or the second work in director’s filmography.

Main Documentary Films Competition is open for full-length, medium and short documentaries shot in one of the post-soviet countries or in the country of post-socialistic block widely appreciated by experts and public.

In the National Film Schools Competition (1st-2nd Documentary Films Competition) representatives of various film schools may participate with their works. Each of the works may be undergraduate or graduate film project.

Any film shoot or produced by Belarusians in Belarus or abroad may participate in the National Competition Programme.

Children and Youth Film Competition “Listapadzik” also accepts full-length feature and animation works.

In the competitions of Minsk IFF „Listapad” can participate films made in the last two years. The application process will continue until September 6, 2015.

International expert jury decides the main prizes of the festival – “Golden Listapad” and “Silver Listapad”. Audience choice prize is also awarded as “Bronze Listapad”.

MIFF “Listapad” is more than 150 films from 45 countries, more than 200 screenings at 6 venues annually. Q&A between audience and the authors of the film follows most of the screenings. The main programme is accompanied by workshops and retrospectives. 40 000 people with more than 100 special guests from film industry visit the Festival annually.

Founders of the Festival are Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus and Minsk City Executive Committee.
